Goldfish are the most commonly kept fish of all, usually cruelly kept in a small unfiltered bowl. Goldfish are related to carp an if kept in a substantial sized pond can grow to more than a foot long. They should not be kept in bowls but in large well filtered tanks. Even that is not ideal for the common goldfish as they should really be in a pond, but you can keep the fancy varieties safely in a tank.
